      Construction completed on the Fukuchiyama Factory (now Fukuchiyama Office) in Fukuchiyama, Kyoto Prefecture

      Chairman Kaoru Iwanami awarded the Gold and Silver Rays of the Order of the Rising Sun, 5th Class

      Issued convertible bonds of 18 million Swiss francs (approx. 1.6 billion yen), which are allocated to construction of a new building and upgraded facilities at the Fukuchiyama Factory
