Our company has created and produced its unique technology and numerous excellent products, always getting one step ahead of our competitors and taking the initiative, as a "leak stopping" - sealing maker for mechanical seals, packings and gaskets or the like since the Company was established in 1924.
At present, in 80 years after its foundation, our company is also challenging to a new field on the basis of our highly sophisticated engineering power and most advanced material development force.
PILLAR history

May, 1924 Nippon Pillar Packing Industries was established in Nada, Kobe, Japan.1 01
August, 1926 A factory was newly set up in Yodogawa, Osaka, Japan. (At present, the head office is located here.) In this factory, a full-scale production was started for sealing packings for industrial use.
June, 1932 The production of gaskets for automobiles and marine engines was started.
May, 1948 The Company was reorganized into a joint-stock company, and Nippon Pillar Packing Co., Ltd. was founded with a capital of JPY 2 million.
October, 1948 Tokyo Branch Office was opened.
April, 1951 First in our country, a mechanical seal (shaft sealing device) was developed, starting its production.
October, 1952 A vertical gasket for a high-temperature & high-pressure pipe flange was developed. The production of fluorine plastic products (Product name: "Pilaflon") was started.
March, 1963 Gasket Division was separated, and the investment in kind was made to Osaka Gasket Industries Co., Ltd. to set up Nippon Gasket Co., Ltd. (present affiliated company).2 02
September, 1967 Sanda Factory was set up newly in Sanda, Hyogo, Japan.
April, 1972 Pillar Estate Co., Ltd. (present Pillar Sangyo Co., Ltd.) was established. (present subsidiary company)
May, 1977 Pillar Service Sales Co., Ltd. was established. (present subsidiary company)
March, 1980 Capital participation was performed on HIDAKA SEIKO CO., LTD. (present subsidiary company)
July, 1982 Chubu Pillar Service Sales Co., Ltd. was established. (present subsidiary company)
May, 1984 The Company was listed on the Osaka Securities Exchange as specially appointed brand in the 2nd Stock Market.
May, 1985 Pillar Denshi Kogyo Co., Ltd. was established.
April, 1987 Tsuruga Pillar Co., Ltd. (present Hokuriku Pillar Co., Ltd.) was established. (present subsidiary company)
Tokyo Pillar Co., Ltd. was established. (present subsidiary company)
April, 1989 Pillar Denshi Kogyo and Pillar Estate were merged, whose company name was changed to Pillar Sangyo Co., Ltd.
October, 1989 Fukuchiyama Factory was newly set up in Fukuchiyama, Kyoto, Japan.
December, 1990 Pillartec Co., Ltd. (present Pillar Engineering Service Co., Ltd.) was established. (present subsidiary company)
June, 1993 Nippon Pillar Packing Singapore, a subsidiary of Nippon Pillar Packing Co., Ltd., was established in Singapore as a sales strategic point in Southeast Asia. (present subsidiary company)
December, 1994 NP Industries Co., Ltd. was established. (present subsidiary company)
September, 1995 The Company was removed from the list on the Osaka Stock Exchange 2nd Market - specially appointed brand, which was listed on the Osaka Securities Exchange - 2nd Stock Market.
October, 1995 Technical Training Center was newly set up in Sanda Factory.
April, 1996 Kanto Pillar Engineering Service Co., Ltd. was established. (present subsidiary company)
September, 1999 Nippon Pillar Packing America was established in U.S.A. (present non-subsidiary company)
January, 2001 The Company was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange - 2nd Stock Market.
March, 2001 The Company was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and Osaka Stock Exchange - 1st Stock Market.


Origin of our company name
This naming is derived from the fact that "Patented Pillar Packing No. 1" developed first as our product in 1924 was pillar-shaped.
